Thank you to all the families that attended the family night event at Maya Angelou Elementary School earlier this month! Families and students enjoyed learning about Dia De Los Muertos from Ms. Ramirez, who is a Parent Educator in Harveyā€™s Birth-to-3 program. She shared valuable information about setting up an altar with the photos of the loved ones who have passed on, as well as about the variety of flowers, food and drinks placed on the altar to honor loved ones. Everyone visited various stations which included creating tombstone messages, making papel picado and decorating sugar skulls. The event was a beautiful celebration and wonderful time spent with Angelou families!
