Harvey School District 152 recently announced the appointment of interim Superintendent Dr. Lela Bridges-Webb to lead the school district while a superintendent search is launched.
Dr. Bridges-Webb is no stranger to District 152 as she started in the district in 1995 and retired in 2010. She also served as co-interim superintendent during the 2017-2018 school year with Dr. Margaret Longo. She will serve as interim superintendent for the remainder of the school year. During the first semester of the current school year, Dr. Longo served as a co-interim superintendent alongside Dr. Barbara Mason. Dr. Longo completed her service in December, and Dr. Mason completed hers in February.
With nearly 40 years of experience as an educator, Dr. Bridges-Webb served in a variety of roles, including teacher, dean of students, elementary and high school principal and central office administrator. When she retired after 15 years as a superintendent, she was the longest sitting African-American female superintendent in the state of Illinois.

Harvey School District 152 serves nearly 1,600 students within one early childhood center, four elementary schools and one middle school in Harvey, Ill.
