Recently, our Board of Education approved our 2023-2028 Strategic Goals!
Ensure academic engagement and growth for all students
Support a learning environment that is safe, inclusive, and engaging for all students
Grow and maintain a work environment that recruits and retains high-quality staff
Enhance communication and community relations
Provide a safe and effective learning environment with fiscal responsibility
These goals were developed by stakeholder feedback including focus groups and surveys. Next, our board and administration will begin working from these goals to then develop specific strategies over the next couple of years. Last night the 7th Grade Lady Warriors defeated Chicago Heights Middle School 31-13 to advance to the Regional Championship game. The Lady Warriors will put their undefeated season on the line against Homewood Hart tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov.15 at 4:30 p.m. at Chicago Heights Middle School (1020 Dixie Highway, Chicago Heights, IL 60411). Come cheer on the Lady Warriors on their quest for another Regional Championship!


As a reminder, tomorrow Nov. 15, is a school improvement day. Students will be released at 12:30 p.m.


Our Lady Warriors 7th grade basketball team is ranked the number one seed in the Regional Competition! This afternoon (Nov. 13 at 4:15 p.m.), the undefeated team will play at Chicago Heights Middle School.
Coach Valente and the Lady Warriors have been working hard all season. Come out and show your support as they push for another regional championship!










Congratulations to Jeremiah Harris Mitchell on his position as National Junior Honor Society President! Jeremiah is an 8th grader who is active in many clubs and groups at Brooks Middle School including Drumline, Choir, Drama and Broadcasting Club. He is excited about this experience and looks forward to community-based initiatives and learning more about how he can help others.


In observance of Veterans Day, there will be no school tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 10.


Last week, Brooks Middle School held their Annual Trunk or Treat event! Students came back to school to some creative tables and spooky costumes. Ms. Buchanan's "Ursula's Poor Unfortunate Souls" table from Disney's Little Mermaid, was a big hit!

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Harvey 152 Central Office team wore PINK FOR POWER in support of those going through this difficult battle.

Brooks Middle School recently held a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) Kick-off Assembly! Staff wore their PBIS T-shirts, the Brooks Middle School Drumline performed and there was a competitive round of staff versus student tug-of-war!





Last week, we celebrated Boss’s Day at the District office! We’re incredibly grateful for our leaders, Interim Superintendent Dr. Lela Bridges and Assistant Superintendent of Business and Operations Ms. Dana Nichols. Thank you for your dedication to our students, staff and community!
