Last weekend, the Harvey Educational Foundation held its "A Celebration of Excellence" gala, a remarkable event that truly made an impact. This special evening was not only a night of fun but also a powerful tribute to the dedicated educators, community members, and faith-based partners who are committed to advancing the education and success of our children. We honored those who inspire and uplift, ensuring a brighter future for the next generation. Our distinguished honorees included: ~Renegade Riders Motorcycle Club, Harvey-Community Partner ~Shepard's Community Church, Harvey-Faith Partner ~Kimberly Wallace, Support Staff-Brooks Middle School ~Kevin Micks, Educator-Brooks Middle School ~Norma Young-White, Educator-Brooks Middle School For more than 20 years, the Harvey Educational Foundation has supported Harvey School District by establishing grant opportunities that provide essential funding for programs, projects, and scholarships. This crucial support makes a significant difference in the lives of students within the Harvey 152 community, helping them achieve their educational goals and realize their full potential.

Bryant School's Family Reading Night was a great success, bringing families together for a fun evening of learning. A big "THANK YOU" to our community volunteers for engaging families through storytelling and creating lasting memories. Reading is a wonderful way to bond—what's your family's favorite book?

This is a special community alert regarding District and student safety.

Dear Parents and Guardians, I want to inform you about a soft lockdown that was implemented at our school today as a precautionary measure after receiving a potential threat. Our priority was, as always, to ensure the safety of all students and staff. During the soft lockdown, all students remained in their classrooms, instruction continued as usual, and no one was allowed to leave or move around the building until we were confident that the situation was resolved. I am pleased to inform you that, after a thorough investigation by the school administration and local law enforcement, we have identified the source of the threat. It was determined that the threat, while concerning, was not credible and there is no danger to our school community. The individual responsible has been identified, and appropriate actions are being taken to ensure that this situation is addressed following school and district policies. We want to thank you for your understanding and support during this situation. While we never take threats lightly, we are grateful that this was resolved quickly and safely. Last month, Harvey Educational Foundation hosted their 27th Annual Golf Outing! The event took place at Glenwoodie Golf Club in Glenwood with more than 106 participants. Along with their annual gala, this event raises funds for teacher mini grants. Thank you to the Foundation for their continued support of our students and staff!
