In continuing to promote a culture of attendance at Maya Angelou, staff has ordered more attendance motto shirts, "School is the Place to Bee!" Students can wear these shirts in place of their uniform. Also, parents participated in attendance education at Maya Angelou's open house. Way to go, students and families!

Harvey School District presented the Mayor of Harvey Christopher J. Clark with an artifact from 1910! Nineteen years after the establishment of Harvey IL there was a sewing circle class where women were learning to stitch their names. The artifact was discovered by a woman in Idaho, who had a small resale shop, and recently reached out to the district. It was very important for her to get that cloth back to Harvey. Pictured from left to right: Harvey Schools Interim Superintendent Dr. Lela Bridges, Mayor of Harvey Chris Clark, Harvey Schools Board President Myra Gardner and Harvey Alderwoman Colby Chapman.
