Our theme for the school year is Get Ready, Get Set, We’re Moving Forward Together! Last Friday was our first Staff Spirit Day!
It was a big day for our youngest learners! Last week, Riley Pre-K students began their educational journey in Harvey School District. Thank you to our incredible staff members for making our students feel welcome and excited to learn.
Parent and guardians: With the new school year underway, Harvey School District requests that you review our 2023-2024 Parent/Guardian-Student Handbook and District-Wide Behavior Plan with your child(ren). If you would like a paper copy, please reach out to your school secretary. Thank you and have a wonderful school year! https://www.harvey152.org/page/student-handbook
In observance of Labor Day, there will be no school on Monday, Sept. 4. Have a wonderful extended weekend!
On Thursday, August 10, Maya Angelou Elementary School held its Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony! Thank you to our Board of Education, administrators, teachers, students and community members for helping us celebrate!
Newly renovated areas of the school include a STEM Lab, student classroom spaces and fine arts areas. We look forward to our students and staff learning and teaching in these beautiful spaces for years to come.
With the extreme heat during our first week of school, we managed to keep our buildings open and our students and staff members safe! We couldn’t have done it without the help of our community, our families and our incredible custodial and maintenance team.
Early each morning, Director of Buildings and Grounds Mr. Alfred Daniels checked each building and made the necessary adjustments to prepare for the day ahead. We’re so proud of everyone who was part of making our first week a great one!
